“ We had an authentic Egyptian breakfast—even though it was 4 p.m., the chef was kind enough to prepare a fresh one just for us. He was incredibly friendly and well-mannered—something that’s no surprise coming from an Egyptian. The table was filled with delicious classics: ful medames drizzled with olive oil, crispy taameya, flavorful eggplant moussaka, and that iconic puffed-up Egyptian baladi bread. And of course, we ended it with a warm sip of Egyptian-style mint tea. The whole experience brought back the feeling of enjoying breakfast on the charming old streets of Cairo. The flavors were rich with the warmth and generosity of the Egyptian spirit. My wife and I were truly happy to relive the beautiful memories we once had in Egypt. Honestly, this was the best breakfast we've had since arriving in Canada. ”
“ Super authentic food! Really liked the hawawshi highly recommend to try! the shawarma meat are really good too tender and flavourful! Definitely will come back to try other stuff got free baklavas from the owner which is a super happy guy that’s when you know his food won’t be bad for sure lol ”
“ My husband and I got takeout from here for the first time and it was absolutely incredible! We ordered the shish tawook platter and beef kabab platter and both were yummy. Generous portions with a good amount of meat served with tahini, hummus, garlic sauce and hot sauce (one of my favourite hot sauces that I’ve tried). The freshly made bread was a pleasant and very tasty surprise. Will definitely be back to try more items off their menu! The place has limited seating so it’s best for takeout (but you can still fit 4-5 people at the table they have there). Got free baklava as soon as we walked in, very tasty! ”

“ We absolutely love the authentic, handmade, quality Alexandrian cuisine made by Gihan and Hassan! The Mahshi is my favourite - I could literally eat this every day. I gave a 3 star for atmosphere only because there's only room for one table (which actually feels quite special, like sitting in their kitchen)....I heard rumours there may be an expansion coming! ”
